The Risk of Getting Transformation Wrong

#1 Significant Investment that does not produce the intended outcomes

Organisations commit substantial resource to transformation; time, money, leadership attention and the goodwill of their people.

 When the underlying conditions are not in place, that investment produces activity rather than change: Outputs are delivered, milestones are met and the operational reality at the frontline remains largely unchanged.

 The cost is not just financial. It is the credibility of leadership and the capacity of the organisation to absorb what comes next.

#2 Workforce fatigue that quietly erodes the capacity to move

Every change programme that does not land the way it should leaves a residue. People become more cautious, more cynical and less willing to invest discretionary effort in the next initiative.

In environments already carrying significant change load, this accumulation is not visible in any dashboard or report. It surfaces only when the organisation needs to move and finds that it cannot; not because the strategy is wrong, but because the people required to carry it have run out of capacity to try again.

#3 The same structural problems resurfacing in new forms

Without the conditions architecture that determines whether transformation can sustain and compound over time, organisations find themselves cycling through programmes. Each cycle addresses the symptoms of the previous one without resolving the underlying structural conditions that produced them.

The result is not stagnation, organisations continue to change. But they do not build genuine transformation capability. Each programme starts from approximately the same point as the last.

A framework built on eight years of New Zealand research

The SIMPLE Transformation Framework™ was developed by Growth Development, a New Zealand research and development organisation, through eight years of applied research, implementation testing, and operational refinement across complex transformation environments. It is not a repackaged overseas model. It was built here, tested here, and refined through real implementation in New Zealand organisations.
What that research consistently revealed is that transformation does not fail because of poor strategy or insufficient effort. It fails because the systemic and relational conditions that determine whether change can actually land are not in place. The framework addresses that layer directly.

The Leading Through Change Tour is facilitated personally by Melanie Bedggood, founder of the SIMPLE Transformation Framework and director of the Transformational Change Institute. It brings together a cross-sector group of senior leaders including Governance, C-Level, General Management and Senior Leaders in People Culture, Business Transformation and Senior Advisory roles. 

These sessions are kept intentionally small and tour dates are limited. This format is not available through standard online or inhouse delivery.
